You all know about my saga with dh and his drinking. I haven't said a thing to him about it in weeks and weeks. This week he's been moderating his drinking on his own - or so I thought. Tonight I found him in the storage area out in the garage looking pretty guilty about something. I pretty much thought it was wine-related. I asked him what he was doing and he said nothing and shuffled me away from his hiding place. I gave him a kiss and he tasted of wine. Later I went out to the storage area and, lo and behold, there was the uncorked bottle of white wine. He was hiding it from me.
The truly hilarious time came when dinner arrived and he had totally forgotten where he had left his wine bottle and couldn't even find the opener and I said absolutely nothing. I didn't even tell him that I wondered why he thought he should lie to me about the wine. Apparently, he thinks he needs to hide it from me. Funny that he would think that I'm so stupid I wouldn't notice what he is doing.
So, do any of you have these episodes with your spouses?
My hb doesn't hide things yet but he certainly lie about things. He eats the boys food and then denies it all the time. He eats their ice cream and sometimes their sandwiches for school lunch. I just hate that. He won't admit to it which makes it worse. It really gets to me.
I don't know if they are actually hiding things or just putting things away in their minds...I had something out for my laptop and he wanted to know what is was for...so I said for the computer. He took it to the room with the big iMac..took me forever to find it...lost a day of other things I needed to do..You will find all sorts of things in places where they don't belong....
