Wow had quite the scare yesterday. I had to go in the store to get a prescription filled. He said he didn't want to go in and would wait in the car because the store is so cold for him. I have done this many times...no problem. It was maybe in the low 80s outside. When I came back he had the door open and was sitting on the edge of the seat with his feet hanging out of the car and looked like death warmed over.
He said he had gotten too hot in the car and didn't know what to do. He doesn't drive but he has keys and could have started the car and put on the air and/or rolled down the windows. He looked so frightened. I immediately turned on the air and rushed him home. I thought maybe he had had a heat stroke. But after awhile he seemed normal.
Never in my widest dreams would I have given it a second thought about leaving him in the car while I go in the store...But...NEVER,NEVER again. Guess we have to remember they are like children and can't process what needs to be done to correct a problem situation they are in. For those interested in a reference point my dh is in stage 6.
