Not a lot of time before it is Aug..and we haven't had any summer yet...days getting a little shorter and we have had fog fog fog! pout pout pout!
July has been a s§¶∞¢ month anyway but I am not ready to think about the holidays OR having to go on Medicare..I don't want to be a fossil yet..so I am opting for "classic citizen" instead of that ol senior crap.
  2.
We have had nothing but heat here. Hot, hot, hot. And I am very tired of it. I work in the heat everyday and am ready for cooler weather.

Something funny, yesterday I looked at DH. He had 3/4 of a mustache. It was about 4 days growth and a part of the bottom on one side was missing. He had shaved it off a few months ago don't know what was going on with it yesterday or how I could of missed it!

DD starts school on the 9th. And I have always said once school starts, the holidays are just around the corner.

I say once memorial day goes by the year is over...then the days speed up too fast...

I agree-all we have had is HEAT.And while I do not mind fall I hate the thoughts of the holidays that follow and I am sure this year will be tougher to get through than last.Money is shorter and so is patience,so not looking forward to that at all.

Not only the holidays, but fall means life is dying and will not come back until spring. That is why I have always like spring the best, then summer when life is at its peak.

Well here it is...August 1st and big whoop.
  6.
Yeah, big whoop- LOL. Yesterday it was 107° and today it's supposed to be 110° - temp not heat index. 32 consecutive 100°+ days and 39 - 100°+ days this year. I've been hibernating for the last month, only going out when I have to. I've been reading a lot. I order books online from the library and the kids pick them up for me and return.

This break has really been good for me. Claude has been gone for nearly 2-1/2 years now and this has been really the first time I have "slowed down and smelled the roses" since his first major heart surgery in 1991. The signs started then but we didn't realize them. I've been filling up my days with 'stuff and things" and didn't realize how much I needed to do absolutely nothing.

I check in here frequently and keep all of you in my prayers.

    Y'all take care.

    Mary

Mary, You in AZ? I lived there and experienced those temps..
Yes...looking back at when this disease started...I think for me now it is some 11 years...the neurotrax testing and the areas reviewed tell me more of when symptoms began...even before heart surgery...there was the " not paying attention" to something important he needed to respond to or just know..Over those years I was becoming more and more frustrated and at times angry and being "ignored"....now I am a prisoner to this disease right along with my buddy and he is happy as a rule and I am miserable.

mimi - I wrote it off as 'selective hearing' like a child has. In 2008 I finally told him he had to go find out since he said he honestly was not hearing me.

sorry Mary about the heat. It seems east of the Rockies are having that. We are in the 90s but that is normal for this time of year. Since there is low humidity, it is much more tolerable.

People have actually been coming here to Florida to cool off! And with our beach here on Siesta Key just having been named best in the country, the tourists arrived en masse. Too much good publicity.

Charlotte, I was raised in the Seattle area and still have family there. My sis was complaining of the heat a couple of days ago (80°) - LOL. My aunt and uncle lived in the Yakima area, and I spent a lot of time with them growing up. Between there and living in Phoenix for several years, I love hot weather. Just not this hot - LOL.

It's over 105 here today. Can't enjoy the garden at all as I can't take this heat. It was so hard to come back from our trip to the California coast to return to this heat. Yesterday I ran into someone who said " there is only one thing that is going to end this heat." "What?" I asked. "August," he said. maybe....September stays hot for a couple weeks too though.

Well, today we joined the seizure club. DH was standing next to me while I was talking to a friend and he keeled over backward. When I checked on him his eyes were rolled back and he was incoherent. Only lasted about a minute and then we got him up but I can see that at his stage (late 6) it will happen more often. Another fun day in hot, humid PA.

I am fairly new to this site.

Phil4:13. You mention seizures being something that will happen more often in late stages. I was not aware of this. I will be more alert.

We here in Michigan have had a very hot summer this year. Very few cool days or nights for that matter.
