There was a story on the news the other day in which it is now being reported that during eye checks, some of the same kinds of plaque or tangles now can be spotted in the vessels of the eye. I know they can start to see cholesterol but this is a new one..They said in the report it will only assist the victim of such news the opportunity to start to build plans for future care.
This study is being done in Boston - in fact last year we included my FIL eyes with his brain. They can see changes in the back of the eye that they believe will indicate early AD.
And after what we have gone through would we really want to know for ourselves? I think that would be more than depressing and pretty hard to take..not sure I would want to know...Best idea is to just plan that something will cause us to need assistance in later years and to bankroll for it if we can...my folks did that and we were then able to keep them both at home until the end.
