My dh, in all of the time we've been together (22 years), has had an anger problem. He has taken his bad temper out of me. It's been the major problem in our marriage. Yet, for the past 2-3 months, he has been mild and acting much better. His temperament is so much better.
To update, he has FTD, but not dx. He's almost 81 years old, with diabetes and its complications. He had two strokes last October, and is now on a walker. Walking w/o it is possible, but he's very unsteady.
It seems like I have read on this site that towards the end of the FTD journey, their temperament levels out, and the nastiness stops. Could this be the reason he's acting better towards me?
My husband has FTD but he has never had the aggression/anger. He was diagnosed 3 years ago. It could be that your dh's anger is lessened by progression of the disease. Who knows....just enjoy that he is acting better toward you.
My husband also has FTD...he had terrible anger issues which caused me to place him. He was at the ALF for a year, however, with medication, but mostly the progression of the disease, I brought him home in March. Totally, different person than went in there.
