For a couple of years I have been trying to convince Tom that we needed to change neuros. I have never liked nor trusted the one we started with and as far as I am concerned our visits to him were worthless. Our PCP gave us several suggestions over a year ago but also said that unless Tom was willing to undergo more testing that changing wouldn't work. After several incidents a couple of weeks ago I asked if he was willing to maybe have more testing done and try to get a more definitive diagnosis. Maybe we could change his meds or whatever. He finally agreed!!!!!!!!!! Our PCP called today and set up an appointment for the end of August with a neuro who specializes in Dementia's and Parkinson's. I am so excited. Don't know if we will learn anything more than what we know, but at least we will be doing SOMETHING. And that I don't have to coerce or trick him into going.

sheila - good to hear the news.
  1.
sheila it would be wonderful if medication would help some of the symptoms. Diagnosis is the key.

He is on several medications (and has been for 3 year) and I don't know if they help or not. Seems like in the past 2 days since we got an appointment made that he has really gone downhill. He can't find ANYthing he is looking for even tho it is right before his eyes. Then he gets frustrated and cranky and just sits glued to the TV or sleeps. It's been a really long week already and it's only Wednesday.
