Our poor little dog Sophie punctured her eye and have made numerous trips with her to the Vet. Two days I had to put drops they made from her own blood in her eyes every hour on the hour...and 3 other different kinds of drops every four hours and liquid med. twice a day. I didn't now come here from go sic-um..after 4 days of this treatment. The Vet then scheduled surgery to remove her eye because it wasn't healing and she was blind. Dog prayers do help..after a couple more days of treament prior to surgery date..her eye started improving. So now we are on meds eye drops 4 times a day and waiting to see if improvement continues.
Meanwhile, my dh has done nothing except sleep and worry about Sophie. I swear I can't take much more or any new problems.
Thanks for listening. (I know this is minor compared to others so forgive me).
Get well wishes to Sophie.. I know how agonizing it is when our four footed kids are hurt or ill. I have a worry with my poor kitty with allergies...and it is so frustrating to know what to do...hope the drops keep working for the pup and that you LO will not worry so much..
Sending prayers of healing for little Sophie. Boy can I relate to your situation. Same thing happened to our Reilly and he did have to have his eye removed. The whole ordeal was so stressful and sad, not to mention expensive. And it was 2 weeks before Christmas. On his last vet visit we were told he has a mature cataract in his remaining eye and the vet doubts that he can see anything more than shadows, so she recommended we take out that eye too. NO WAY...I know he can see because he always knows when some food falls on the ground!
God bless all people that care for the animals. None of us has any choice but to eat to survive. Compassion is a good thing though and photography and the internet have shown many now that all sorts of animals are open and capable of deeper relationships with us and each other.
I was watching Diners on TV last night showing a mobile pizza joint that made all it's own ingredients purchased locally. That's why (the fellow explained) he let his parrot eat it. "Isn't that right?" he asks the parrot nibbling at the pizza. "Awk pepperoni" answers the parrot.
