    Hello All,

I have updated you as best as I could with the weekend blog. Please log onto the home page - www.thealzheimerspouse.com - to read it. I am going to start a separate thread to explain about the RSS feed.

I will check in on the message boards up until Sunday night, and then my sister takes over while I try to recuperate.

    Bluedaze,

I've been working like a busy beaver to get things covered. After Arlene leaves, Medicare is sending in a nurse 3 times a week to check Sid's glucose levels and food. My insurance will pay for a nurse for me if the surgical site needs attention. My friend is hiring a home health aide for me when Arlene goes home. Therapy will be done by the therapy company here on site at the Palms. The Palms has a bus and driver to take me to doctor apts. and groceries. Dr. Simovitch advises his patients to rent the Game Ready Ice Machine - http://www.gameready.com/?gclid=CKLfwMahnakCFYiE5godkAyquA, which I am doing. And you're coming over with drug laced tea, right? (LOL) So I'm as ready as I'll ever be.

I hope you listen to your sister, would hate for her to have to get out the whip! <grin> I hope you surgery goes smoothly and that your recovery is speedy. Keeping you in my thoughts ♥

Joan I am so glad your sister is there for you. I recently had emergency surgery (gall bladder), had no time to plan, ended up driving myself to the hospital on painkillers because my husband was trying to go the wrong way. It was one of those aha moments we all have when we realize how alone we are even though our spouse is still with us. Having your sister will certainly be a wonderful thing for your psyche, speedy recovery!

Joan, I am hoping you have an easy surgery and a comfortable and quick recovery. And, as I have learned over the past 3 years, thank God for sisters!!
I know it can never compensate for Sid not being with you, but all of your family here on your website will be thinking of you and sending healing thoughts your way.

Arlene's plane landed safely, and she's here now. YAY! I am beginning to relax. What would I do without my baby sister?

Thanks everyone for the good wishes.

Hope all goes well, Joan, and best wishes for a speedy recovery. BUT ... also be a good patient and follow your doctor's orders post-surgery; don't try to do too much too soon so you give your body a chance to recuperate fully. Enjoy spending time with your sister!
