Since some of us are not going to have guests or go any place for the Memorial Day Weekend, what do you say we have a picnic on line? Who is gonna bring the big red and white checked tablecloth to put on the ground? I don't have one but I do have a picnic hamper! What shall we have? Hot Dogs, Burgers? chips and dips and who can make potato salad? I'll bring my killer brownies..no dieting on picnic day!
oooh if you have read older posts you will find we used to have some virtual parties from time to time. even cruises! its true, most of us will be home tending to our spouses without guests pool parties and company. so yes, i will be bringing a huge vat of homeade vanilla ice cream with choc chip, cherries, nuts and carmel and choc and strawberry toppings! i hope its not too hot out. i think we should hold it in sunny florida.. haha. somewhere on the beach and lots of fine silky sand. beach balls, umbrellas and and lots of wading in warm blue waters! then a huge feast. i know Bama will be thrilled to be near the ocean.. grin
I forgot about the last beach party..we were deciding if we should wear bikinis or not..I know Phranque and Marsh were all for it! tee hee those bad boys... The menu is taking shape nicely..what can the lads who don't cook bring besides buns and chips? The ice cream sounds like it will go well with my killer brownies...I'll even put nuts in them and have cream cheese frosting! WE need wine coolers and lots of lemonade too..
I'll bring a cooler of beer. Can't celebrate Memorial Day without a few brews. I can't eat brats (stomach problems) but will fix up some big old juicy burgers to grill....also some grilled onions (I will forgo the stomach for onions). I love the beach and will wear my bikini as long as nobody throws up...if that happens I will put on a coverup. I'm thinking someone needs to bring a pasta salad and a big watermelon.
I'll wear my bikini too as long as no one makes fun of me for wearing a mumu over it! I am shy!
Oh and don't forget the cantaloupe too. Oh and I'll bring extra polar packs to keep drinks good and cold..those things come with my hubby's insulin and boy do they stay frozen!
She has never had crystal bowls...I don't think I want to spoil her that much..Have you seen her pictures on FB? She is something! Speaking of Cookie...no flowers if you want to have your arrangement stay the way it was originally designed..she thinks she is a floral specialist..she will make a mess..
We could hire a caregiver for the day so we could just get away from it all and part of the caregivers supplies should be the people pooper bags..this is our day off...
True. I think our Dear Spouses should stay home on Monday so we can all enjoy ourselves. What an exciting thought. A day on the beach with my friends (whom I have never met), relaxing, exchanging stories, laughing, crying, bonding. Wow. Gotta stop here because this is beginning to get emotional for me.
Oh, Bama, what do you call those candles that keep bugs away...I think my mind is slipping..hahahahahaha snicker..Speaking of snicker...I'll bring some of those too just for fun..back to that candle I hear they work pretty well.

We are not waiting until "AFTER" WE ARE GOING THIS WEEKEND, BAMA :) In fact we better bring tents...we should start out so we miss the heavy traffic..how about tonight?oppps we shoulda done that yesterday....nuts...well I'll bring those too....If we get there Sunday we can leave Tuesday after the traffic is thinned out... Oh, what about the LOs? Well we need to tell the caregiver sitter they need to figure out how to help the LOs work the "GREAT WHITE PHONES" as we called the out houses when we were out in the field... And this reminds me.....we need to swipe the LOs babywipes...well some of them....we will need em too to wipe our sticky bar b q fingers, mop up the dribbled ice cream ( it will be warm at the beach) oh and don't forget the sun screen!!!
I am getting all worn out from all these preparations but I am game. Can't do it in Michigan as the rain won't stop. I have already started making the potato salad so we have to go through with it now. I can't wait. Haven't been on a picnic since my kids were young. Find a banyon tree and letl's meet under it. The heck with the price of gas! Let's find out what the word "fun" means. Let's watch the sun rise and set.

i think phranque and wolf should be in charge of fireworks.. :) on the beach of course. and a bonfire for roasting marshmellows and weinies.. hhaha. wow this party is shaping up nicely since last night. its an all nighter right??? we need to bring sleeping bags or are we sleeping communal in tents?? we need to get some of those party rentals with lots of beach chairs and umbrellas.. how bout a massage tent setup?? and some hunky masseuses to work us over ladies while we sip on tropical drinks? humm. bikinis maybe not but one peices with coverups will do. i also vote for a limbo dance after dark.. :) around the bonfire!
I make my own Lemoncello and Grand Marnier - just finished making both - so will bring enough for everyone. I'll be on my way south shortly. Anyone need a ride??
No one has a picnic in NW PA without hardboiled eggs marinated in beet juice! They aught to be good and "ripe" by the time I reach the ocean! Also BBQ's pork sandwiches. I think if we girls wear bikinis that the guys (who are conspicuously missing) should wear Speedos.
phil-I haven't thought of the hard cooked eggs in beet juice for years. I'm from Philly. I buy a big jar of pickled beets. When the beets are gone I put the eggs in to marinate.
Ain't gonna sleep in no tent....I want to be in a high rise with a balcony...Just saying.. I can make a gallon of redneck margaritas and even bring the Alabama Stadium big plastic cups to drink from.
I've been gone for awhile. After reading some of the blogs esp. about seeing what is ahead I took a trip (Egypt, De Nile is great!) But I come back and this picnic seems just what I need. Sun, sand, food, happy people.... I'm in, I'll bring Sangria, skewered asparagus, music and how about some college boys to haul the stuff and wait on us!
Bama, we can get bunk beds for the tent and you can have the top bunk..that will be sort of highrise. You don't want to miss the fun that starts after midnight do you?
Sleep number bed for me and preferable a 5 star hotel. I also need a pool boy to watch or a well tanned lifeguard. You may have to count me out for the after midnight party. I may just sleep through the whole thing!
Well is we are all gonna stay at a ***** hotel on the beach in Fla..from now until after Labor Day we better be getting a meeting going once we all get there so we can get us a Brinks Truck and figure out....hay..Maybe The Donald will loan us his digs for a worthy cause..We are a worthy cause, worthier than many I can think of.. Anyone know The Donald?

Nothing like a late comer! Do you have room in your car for me? I have the blue berry cheese cake big enough for all of us! Someone is going to have to teach me how to swim!!!(maybe one of those college boys ;-) I don't do tents either, I am for the 5 star hotel anytime. Fraid of bugs ya know!
