Just wanted to give an update on my DH who is home on Hospice after being in the hospital for 1 week...rehab for physical therapy for 2weeks and and 1 week in the Palliative Unit. He is unable to walk, feed himself, bedbound, incontinent of bowel and bladder, lost 40lbs in the last 3 months, in pain,.....but is still able to smile and say he loves me. The past 3years have been devastating to see this happen to the Love of my life. He is only 61 years old and it has come to this.

I am so sorry. I know how heartbreaking it is to see someone we love in this state of affairs. The pain brought me to my knees.

AngelB, We have so much in common, both husbands with FTD. Since bringing my husband home from ALF in March, he has lost the ability to walk also. He doesn't speak & now sleeps most of the day, however, does still smile... My husband is 60 years old, we have been dealing with dementia for 10 years now. So hard to see this otherwise healthy man in dementia world unable to do anything for himself. At least he is not in pain.

angelb, so very sorry to hear your DH is not doing well. My DH also has FTD and is 61, in good health besides the dementia. Such a horrible disease. Love and prayers for both of you.
