I have an 88 yr. old friend in another state - we e-mail often. Hadn't heard from her in quite awhile, so emailed her to see if she was ok, last week. Still no word. She wasn't well, so I ran her name in Legacy.com and found a very short obit about her death on April 4th. I read it, and although it didn't give a lot of details, I knew it was her - I thought. I signed the guest book.

Today, I got an e-mail from her! When I responded I didn't tell her about her death. Well, of course, it wasn't her, but I feel so bad about signing that guest book for someone I didn't know - yet, same name, same age, same city,etc.....I tried to go back in to cancel my post - but can't do it.

Lesson learned: Don't be too quick about certain things!

Why is it we can't edit or delete those guest book signings. I signed a guest book for a friend I've known for 40 some yrs. and spelled her name wrong. I don't mind making mistakes when I'm the only one who knows but this is for the whole world to see. Guess I'm just not thinking clearly enough to even sign a guest book.

Quick on the draw. I had an Aunt that was visiting her mom in the hospital. They thought she would not going to make it. So the Aunt, knew she was to inherit her mom's diamond engagment ring. Why wait might as well go ahead and take it while she can. Her mom got better and asked for the ring back. That was the last time I saw my Aunt and that is the last time she saw the ring. My Dad got in in her will. He took the ring with 3 1 carat diamonds and had it made into 3 rings that he gave to his 3 eldest sons to use as engagment rings when the time came. Too bad I was the 4th son.

I had a pen pal in New York for 20 years. She was a wonderful person and I really enjoyed corresponding with her. When her letters suddenly stopped I assumed she had died and no one knew to notify me. Two years go by and a letter shows up. I about had a heart attack. She had had a stroke and was in a nursing home and her things were in storage and she didn't remember my address. She had recovered to enough to move to assisted living and her daughter had brought some of her things (my address among them) and we corresponded for a couple more years. The letters have stopped again but I'm not going to write her off as dead, not for a couple more years.

I wasn’t going to mention this, but on Tuesday I was delivering some Avon brochures & I was walking towards my customer’s patio doors not realizing that it was a step down. Yep, you guessed it, I went down HARD! Of course DH was in our van & witnessed the whole thing. He came running out & I must say I was really hurting. My left foot & ankle took the brunt of the fall. I was trying not to yell out in pain. He actually was very helpful in helping me stand up. I got back to the van & drove home. I was thinking that maybe I should go & have it checked out, but I didn’t want to take DH to the ER with me. While I was trying to decide what to do my daughter happened to drop by (she was visiting my other daughter who lives across the street. She convinced me to have it looked at & she told me that she would meet at the Urgent Care when it opened & would sit in the waiting room with her Dad. SO that is what we did. Turns out it was only a bad sprain (foot & ankle). I was exhausted after that, but since I’m not working anymore I figured I could sleep in the next morning. WRONG! My phone rang at 4:30 the next morning. I knew exactly who it was. It was my daughter who lives across the street asking me to come over to stay with her 2 kids because she was in labor & she was going to the hospital. Sure enough. So at 4:45AM I was limping across the street to stay with the grandkids & get them off to school. BTW they left for the hospital at 4:50 & at 5:50 he text me that the baby was there! Quick labor! My foot is still swollen but it doesn’t hurt any more.
Opps! I put this in the wrong thread. I meant to put it in the not so bright thread. Guess I'm Not So Bright! LOL!
