    Hi everyone.

I went to visit my husband today. It seems that all he does is look down when he's sitting in the chair. I went to his level and caught his eyes. He started to look at me and I stood up. He looked right in my eyes and said " your so beautiful, I love you." He is there and I hope he is at peace. This whole thing is so terrible and I think it would be worse if he was unhappy and he can't tell me that. I always wonder if the medication they have him on is keeping him from talking to me. He is on Haldol and trazodone, 1 mg for each one. This went so quick from 7 months ago when he walked in there and was talking until now. The home did another pet scan from the one I took him to last june but the imaging place did a terrible job that the original scan could not be compared to the horrible one. Still No Answers.

Haldol is a very strong medication. I know when my husband went to the hospital for behavior last year, they would give him shots of Haldol when he would be out of control. I was basically told that it was given as a last resort.

Woooooo, my husband was put on Haldol when he was in the hospital recovering from his hip replacement. When his Neuro found out, she had a fit! She said she would not give Haldol to any of her patients and we got rid of it. Don't know why...just know that he did much better OFF than ON Haldol. He got by on Seroquel beautifully.... You might question the Haldol, Paula. It might be the culprit here.
But please understand I don't know...... I just know that it did not work with my husband.

My DH's Med List is set up a little differently than most I've seen. First Line is : DH's Med List and the Date.
The First Section is: Meds DH Cannot Take (and why)
Second is: Meds DH is Taking Now
Third is: Meds That have been stopped(and why)

The first med in the first section is HALDOL and the reason is that in DH it increases the behaviors--aggitation, even agression--they're gtryingv to quell. In other words in him it works the reversae of what they want.

Meds have proved very beneficial thus far--once we've found the right ones in the right amounts.
