Last night I gave my husband his first Seroquel pill about 1/2 hour before bedtime. We were watching TV and he fell asleep, which is normal for him. When I went to wake him up to take a shower he was so sound asleep that it was almost impossible to get him up and moving. He was talking gibberish and spit on the carpet. I finally was able to get him to the bedroom and undressed for bed but he didn't open his eyes the entire time. He slept pretty good all night and was fine this morning. I was thinking of splitting the pill and just giving him 25mg. tonight. Does anyone else do that?

    I was always splitting pills.

It may take some time for your husband to get used to the sedation part......Seems as if it took forever for my husband and we did split the pill. (It is hard to do because they are so small) Now, he takes it twice a day and the evening dose has been increased.......by one half of a tablet!

You can buy a pill splitter at a drug store' Works very well.
