Hi, I have this mark on the back of my head, so does my mother and partner. I have noticed many other people in the population with them too. None of the said people have any signs of dimentia (yet!), age range 20-75 years.
I have looked on Google to query this mark as it is so common, once you start to look around, they're everywhere!
My Aunt also had this phenomenon and she did suffer from dimentia ? alzheimers (there was no official diagnosis/title given).
Can we "marked" people expect to experience dimentia in the future, I'll try to let you know how we get on....fingers crossed there's no link.....

amanda, first hello and welcome i seeyou are new! there is alot of discussion on this red patch. i brought up a topic thats been ongoing for some time. you may want to read about it.
some professionals think its called a 'storks bite' or birthmark - others like me do not agree in our particular case. it started out very small at the nape of the neck and now late stage 7 is about half the back of my DH head! it has grown over the years and thru stages. it cant be something from birth since its evolving. we may never know but its certainly interesting to see how many of our spouses have it. maybe the newer ones can add input or if the older ones who checked earlier, maybe can check again... its wierd alright. we really dont have any idea if or how its connected to AD or not. some may really be birthmarks others are iffy.
