    I can't say much except to envy the memories. We never had that type of intimacy in our relationship.

    Good for you Joan. I think it is a victory over this henious disease whenever we refuse to let go of something special just because it might be easier not to deal with it.

    I agree with Mary, Joan, and understand what you are saying...holding hands was always so special and supportive to my DH and I throughout our relationship. Even now, he holds my hand when we are walking together...I think it reassures him that I am still here for him. I am sure you will find comfort in the memories of Sid's support as he held your hand throughout your years together; also know that all of us will be cyber- holding your hand, and praying for your recovery!

    The gift of touch is so special. I always take every opportunity to hold my DH's hand or to touch him as I pass. It is both reassuring to him as well as me. <<<hugs>>> joan as you hold on to Sid during this time.
