it has been brought to my attention that someone has hacked my email an folks are getting unwanted emails proporting to be from me,this is not the case,an I have just within the last few minutes subscribed to the malware site to try an correct the situation, sorry for any problems this may have caused anyone
ol Don, This problem has happened to three people I know just in the last few months. On took the contact list and sent Viagra ads to each one. Another, sent a letter to everyone (bosses included) in the list asking for money. I cannot remember what the third one was...just got a letter from her saying to not use her old email address, as she had been hacked into.
It is a shame. Hang in there. I think it takes a while to clean up the damage.
Happened to me about 3 months ago. Sent Viagra advertisement to everyone on the list, I think my sisters got a kick out of it. I have malware/antivirus software and it still sent it.
The fix was simpl,e all I had to do was change the password to my EMail account. Good Luck.
Shortly after my husband died I got an e mail from someone of this forum advertising Viagra. I e mailed her back really blasting the poor woman. I think it was an AOL account. Then my chaplain's AOL account was hacked into and some very inappropriate stuff came to my box. ol don-do you also have an AOL account?
no AT&T with yahoo address,I'm sorry for any inconvience this has caused anyone, working on it right now an hopefully it will be taken care of,again sorry for the problems
I've been getting about 10 Viagra emails a day--just delete them. I went back in the trash to see when it started. December 18th. Have no idea about the source, but I just delete them along with the other junk mail.
I have charter cable for my tv and internet service but for email I use earthlink. Earthlink is not free but I will say that it catches all this kind of stuff and does not let it in. It goes right to spam. I can click on the spam to see who is in it..sometimes you see a friend who has a new email address..but as for the vulgar stuff, it never gets into my system and I have, touch wood, never had a virus. I use a MAC too so maybe that is an additional benny since we don 't have to have antivirus programs.
I think, but am no computer expert, that some of the free email sites let stuff in..I also have a gmail and have had no problems with that one either.
Maybe someone who is a computer geek can help with suggestions on how to set filters..but basically if an address is not in my address book it does not get entered.
Oh and one more thing...my middle girl used to order her meds from Canada and she said after that she started getting those Viagra emails...so she just got a whole new email address and password. Now she is in Iceland and it is moot...at least for now.
OLDON- Heck I just censored my own contribution.....Somehow, viagra sales must be really poor....Everyone I know gets those spam messages... You need not apologize...some hackers are pretty adept at contaminating email addresses, and then sending spam to all your contacts, and spam filters do not always work....I think they pirate a legitimate site, then will change their email name so that even spam blockers will think it is a valid address...but it is nice to know that we can all blame you!!!!!!!!
And one side effect is that they will keep you from rolling out of bed at night......
lolol Phranque,I used to get at least 10 or more a day Viagra e mails .I just deleted them all the time and then suddenly they stopped ,unless they all go in the Spam filter one now and I just empty that every few days and dont even check to see whats in there .
well Phranque thanks for the kind words you seem to be UP on the subject,I myself don't know alot about the Viagra, when I asked pharmacist if you could get it over the counter he said maybe if you take two,so he wasn't sure either,I'm sure its a big seller down there in Florida,an here I thought all those old guys going for the five oclock specials were talking about food, how silly of me,between the fountain of youth an Viagra the old codgers are living large
