Bob Newhart played a character with AD on NCIS tonight--I actually missed some of the storyline putting my husband to bed. What I did see was an an early stage, older patient who was aware of what was happening to him, and it was a good portrayal. This type of show does a nice job of raising awareness.

I saw the show to. The didn't say he had alzheimers until near the end of the show but he knew that his mind was changing and he seemed frightened. Nice job.

I picked it up near the beginning that the character had it. I loved the way they helped him at the end with all the pictures. I am not sure how hb felt about seeing it portrayed.

MarilyninMD - you can find it online and watch the who program. I know I get postings on FB but then I am a 'fan' of NCIS.

I have to say that I think the portrayal of an early AD patient was very well done. By the end of the show, when they showed him his career on the big screen, I was choked up. My grandson had made a Memory Book for Papa to help him when he couldn't remember. it is a precious book to Dylan now. Well done NCIS, Well done..........................

I just went to CBS message boards for NCIS and thanked them for doing a good job portraying the reality of this disease. CBS seems to focus programing on the baby boomers where the other channels focus on the under 30 group.
