I invite you to log onto the home page - www.thealzheimerspouse.com - and read the Christmas Blog. For those of you who have joined us this year, the blog written by our member, Mary, last year will be new to you. To those veteran members, I hope you re-read its inspiring message.
Thank you, Joan, and thank you, Mary. Everything said is so pertinent to our times this year. May God bless us everyone - on this horrible road we are traveling.
Very inspiring Mary. I totally agree. We have losses but we also have wonderful memories and most of us have other family members and friends. Let us not forget them. You have always been an inspiration for me since I met you here on this site a couple years ago and I still look up to your standards. Love to all of you and enjoy the Holidays.
Yeah...I think I'm wishing for a quick end to the holiday season this year. Not because I'm a grinch by default, but what you hear about sadness hitting harder at holiday times is playing out despite my best efforts at positivity. Usually the funk doesn't get me until about New Year's Eve, because that's when my kids--home for the season--have significant others or friends, and fun things to do.
But for whatever reason, I got up today--Christmas Eve--with a little cloud over my head and it won't go away. Maybe it will go away tomorrow. Or maybe I'm getting it over with, and will feel better on New Year's Eve! One can always try for optimism!
