I don't think this is considered too low. My dh't bp is about like that most of the time.

DH's has been 80/50 for past few months. It makes him dizzy and prone to falls, especially if he gets up suddenly from lying in bed. Doctor is concerned but nothing can be done. Seems to go along DH's old age (90 +). Can't feel a wrist pulse anymore, and he's cold, all signs of poor circulation. All I can suggest to you is to teach your husband to get up gradually to prevent dizziness.

low blood pressure can signify dehydration too sometimes. as AD wears on some medications can be culprits as well. i have seen with my DH that his normal doseages of meds have been decreased over time and now he only gets blood pressure meds daily or not as needed. its dropped as well by itself -maybe thru metabolic changes with the disease. if you hydrate with water the bp can come up some by itself. the pulse will race also if they are dehydrated so its a cue if the heart rate is fast -

Ditto to what divvi said. Try (gently) pinching the top of the hand. If a person is dehydrated the skin will "tent". If not, it will smooth right back out.

I think that BP is a bit low...but what is the heart rate? If that falls below 70 and the doctor doesn't think much of that get a second opinion.
Last week on Monday, my DH had a low BP and his HR was 46. I waited and took it again later...still low and HR of 46. Got his stats again a couple hours later and his BP was in a good range but his HR now was 107 and by the time we got to the doctor it was in the 140s range..he was in the hospital all week while meds were adjusted and should the new levels not keep things stable a pacemaker is to be considered.
