Joan, thanks, I give it to anyone who will listen and I know the GCM does hand out my list. BTW, it was lmohr who advised me to have DH checked for scabies, not drug reaction and she was RIGHT. Those were a terrible few months fighting those bugs in the beginning. No one else, not even pcp or dr's in psych hospital believed it could be scabies. This place has been an invaluable source of GREAT info for me.
Joan, I had been researching the internet for a very long time, regarding...narcissism, passive aggression, etc. But it was only when I googled something about spouse and alzheimers, that I found your site. Sure wish I had found it much, much sooner. My thought is it would be great if you site would come up when someone Googles "spouse has personality change, who did I marry?, spouse has become a stranger, does my changed personality spouse have dementia?" etc. In all of my searching, it had NEVER occurred to me to google alzheimers or dementia. But once I started reading your wonderful site, I just knew I finally hit pay dirt!!!!! He fits the dementia illness to a tee, while he never quite fit in with narcissism, etc. Bless you for creating such a gift for the caregivers!!!! Gina, newbie
The site was recommended through local EOAD support group meeting that I went to. I was somewhat dismayed sharing stories with those who were impacted by AD or dementia, but were not spouses. .The heartache is shared and affects so many. . but only a spouse who shares your indescribable reality can really empathize with what we are going through. .
I did a Google search for "dementia spouse caretaker" and this site was about the fourth one in the list. I had done numerous searches for the past year or two and never found this one before. I am sooooooo glad I made one more attempt. JanP
