Well, I "lost" the battle on this trip to Kentucky........The doctors finally said to give in and I am a wreck. I do pray that my son and husband have a safe trip. However, I hope the family who doesn't think anything is wrong with him, finally sees that he really does have AD. Is that wrong of me?

I may need your help. I'll try to give updates.

    Thanks!

    Ann

Vickie, My condolences on the loss of your mother. I'm glad that your trip is going well. I hope that continues.

Ann, I hope everything goes smooth for your son while traveling with his dad. I look forward to your updates. Try to get some respite for yourself and not worry too much (I know hard to do)...

Just arrived back home late this afternoon. Not a good trip after the first 6 hours with DH. But the funeral service was wonderful and Mom is now at peace. Dh couldn't remember why we were there, although he did well during the funeral and burial. But there were so many people around and he got so confused, of course. But he did introduce himself, over and over, to the same people - even relatives. LOL They were all so good to and with him though. And my son, who had the transplants, was able to come meet us there, so it was good to spend some time with him. He is doing good! It's so good to be home again and back on Joan's site! Thanks to all for your prayers and support. Love you all.

Welcome home, Vickie. Sounds like your trip went fairly well. At least he did well when it mattered most. Trips & lots of people can be confusing for them & of course that is frustrating for us. Our trip was good & bad. You can read about it in October check in. I agree with you......it's good to be home & back here where people understand. Hugs to you!

Vickie, so glad you're back home safe and sound. It may take a few days for things to get back to normal but once you are back in the kitchen cooking his favorite foods he'll be happy. At my house I don't even have to cook. As long as he has his chunky peanut butter on toasted bread with raisins he's happy. I am beginning to worry about me...I seem to be eating a lot of peanut butter lately.

Bama, don't worry, peanut butter is good for you. Just think about all the kids who live on peanut butter & jelly! I still cook, but VERY differently than when the 4 kids were here. If fact I bought some TV dinners for $1.00 & he loved them.

How strange.......I never eat peanut butter, but that's all I've been craving lately! Wow.......We really do have a connection here!

Vickie, I am just now reading this and so sorry for your loss. So glad your mother is at peace and that you were able to go to the funeral, as hard as the trip was for you and dh.

I had not seen my mother since Christmas but thanks to a respite facility was able to go and see her last week. We had a good time, and it was so good to be able to make the trip on my own. I'll post about it on another thread.
