My hb had a real bad weekend, he just snapped Saturday evening, so Monday morning I called his doctor and he started him on Seroquel 25mg, along with 2 clonezapam before bed. So my question is what should I expect to see, hopefully he will sleep thru the night and not be so agaited and restless durning the day?? Thanks for any advice!! Colleen

Everyone reacts differently to different medications, but many people have had good results with Seroquel in calming agitation. I don't know anything about clonezapam. Keep track of his reactions, and if the medication doesn't help, call the doctor, and he will adjust them.

Colleen, My DH started on Seroquel last Friday night. He wasn't agitated or agressive but he was hallucinating and we had been through all that for over a year and I wasn't going through it again! He still brings something up about once a day but I can handle that. I am not good with the paranoia. It doesn't seem to matter who he speaks to after a while he has the conversation mixed up and whoever it was is now mad at him or wanting him to do some job. He has been on Aricept since diagnoses 3 years ago and Namenda a few months later. Sertraline was added after a while for the hallucinations and I guess they did help at first.
It may take a couple of doses for the meds to do their job but I hope they work for both of you. Take care, and God Bless.

Seroquel was one of the wonder drugs that "we" used. I use clonezapam for anxiety, but Ativan worked better for Jim. He also took Paxil. This combo did wonders. Seroquel can be increased until a good level is found. It is really just trial and error Colleen. Keep asking and we will all be here to try and help you find the answers or at least share our experiences.
