It has been years since she has talked about this, yesterday I left her alone, which has not been an issue. She calls me on the cell crying and telling me she wants to end it. She went to get the morn paper and the dog got away from her. I rush home to find her watching TV and she tells me she does not remember calling me.
    Is it time for meds?
She knoes that she is a burden and does not like it.

I would certainly suggest that you contact her doctor and let him know. What kind of meds are you talking about? She may benefit from an anti-depressant at least. Maybe Risperdal or Seroquel in addition, but only her doctor can make that determination.

Is she on Aricept or Namenda? My dh said if I didn't live with him then he would kill himself. That was preceeded by him hitting me across the back and me telling him I could no longer live with him if he was going to hit me. Anyway, his doctors took him off the aricept that day saying it might be a contributing factor. He became physically aggressive again when he was put on Namenda. Joan is right - contact her doctor and let him know. DH is on seroquel among other meds which are controlling his behaviors.

She is just on Aricept now, and I do not know how much good it is doing. She takes thyroid pill and trazadone to sleep. She is not on anything else.
It has been sometime that she has talked about it. She is in a pretty good mood most of the time. I think she is in that phase where they follow you everwhere and if I leave it really upsets her. I do not want to medicate unless that is the only way. She seems fine today.

Sounds like she may need an anti-depressant, or maybe anti-anxiety? It sounds like she was frightened and confussed. I do know what you mean about taking meds, though. I think my DH is waaay overmedicated. Hope things get better!

moorsb, My DH has also mentioned suicide. He is on Aricept & Namenda, but I rally don't think they have any connection to his threats. Like your DW he is always follows me or calls for me when I am outof sight for too long. I don't leave him alone any more & haven't for a few months now. We like everyone else have our good days & bad days. Lately he has not been sleeping well. If it continues I might ask our Dr. for something for that.
    Hugs to you!

moorsb, Jim had to go on to Paxil, it did WONDERS! He also felt like a burden, worried about me hurting myself caring for him. That is why when he lost the use of this legs, (FTD with Motor Neuron Variant) He made request on his own for NH placement, against my wishes! He also eventually went on Ativan for anxiety, that too was a great relief for him.
    Arms around,
    Susan *
