Had to take my wife to the er. She seemed to almost pass out in the car. Her right leg was swollen and we had two doctors viists that day.

Long storty short....she has a blood clot in each leg and one in her right lung. They started her on blood thinners.

The stay in the hospital was tough for my DW. And for myself.

We had started her seroquel and in august and I asked the doctors was the seroquel a contributing factor. There was some disagreement, but they stopped the seroquel. Her PCP started her on resperidal.

My wife is VERY restless. She won't sit still for longer than 2 minutes. It is taking a toll on her and on me. She sleeps through the night, but not very early.

I am trying to type this note on my iPad while trying to keep her to sit still... She is winning so I have to keep this short.

Do blood thinners get rid of the clots?

Blood thinners can help dissolve the clots but their main job is stop more from forming. Sorry you and your wife are having to go through this.
  1.
Heparin is usually given in the hospital directly into a blood vessel (i.e., intravenously) in order to prevent blood clot formation, and to enhance the body’s ability to break down existing blood clots. Oral medications can help prevent formation of new clots-but not dissolve existing ones.

I'm so sorry to hear of the things you are going thru. I will be praying for you and your dw. Rest for you also.
