Hello Everyone, The past couple of days now my hb has been seeing people, that aren't there?? I have asked him if these people he see's are people we know? He doesnt' think so. So my question is what is causing this behavior?? Also he has been having bad dreams, and he worries about it all the next day, they seem so real to him. I try and tell him it was just a dream, but he still worries? So what is causing the dreams? He has been on the same meds for years, nothing like this has happened before. He seems to be real agiated more&more . And when he trys to talk to me he gets so confused, to me he does'nt make sense when he is trying to tell me something. So has anyone else experienced these behaviors?? If so how ,did you deal with the dreams and seeing people who aren't there?? He said that he see's them coming out of the walls, and he always thinks that there are people here all the time, when it is just him and I home. Sometimes I hear him talking to the people. It's getting weird. So is this a stage he is going thru or what????? So thanks everyone !!!! Gotta Run

Yes, my DH got to where he saw people in the house. He thought they were here to hurt us and we often had to calm him down and my son would let him know that he wouldn't let anyone hurt his dad. He first thought the people in the television were in the room with him fighting and arguing, then he stopped watching tv. But he continued seeing people and little kids until the end. He also hallucinated the our cat had made messes on the carpet, we stood there and he pointed adamantly to our feet, but there was nothing there. Yes, you never know what to expect from this. But always try to reassure him that he is safe. And yes, I went and and got paper towels and cleaned up the imaginary poop! Had to to keep peace.

There are several discussions here at Joan's on spouses talking to other people who aren't there; talking to strangers in the mirror; hallucinating objects and dreams......AD causes some reactions that drive you up the wall with some patients. Several here learned to laugh and talk to the person in the mirrors with them! <grin>

My wife talks to people who aren't there. She sometimes explains things to them which is humorous because she can't string two sentences together. She also at times thinks there are other people and almost a year ago would get the number of plates wrong for people that weren't there.

She also doesn't know what week or month or season it is. She will ask if it's cold outside on a scorching day and talk about it being fall in the spring and so on.

Lately she's started making some comments to the TV as though the person was speaking to her.

We're somewhere around 6 years into AD.

Wolf K, We live in SC near the coast and if you have ever been here in August you would know how hot and humid it can be. My DH would often ask if it was cold outside! Sometimes I was tempted to tell him yes and he needed to put a sweater on. I didn't but I restrained myself. BG!

Oh, Jean21 - all last summer DH was cold all the time! I couldn't run the a/c or overhead fans and I suffered all summer! He wore his winter jackets, heavy p.j.'s, etc. However, this summer has been fine! I can use the a/c and fans. Sometimes he will ask me if he needs a jacket when we are going outside (at 90 deg.!) and I just tell him no and he's okay with it. You just never know. I think their body temp gets all confused too.

    Jean 21,

When my DW brought up going swimming for the 20th day in a row or so in mid February I told her if she mentioned it one more time I would take her, cut a hole in the ice, and make her go in.

She looked at me like she was trying to figure out how to change the channel.
