My husband thinks he shaves himself and only gets the center of his cheeks...and then usually manages to shave part of his sideburn, the back of his head, etc. I started shaving him because he was taking off hair where he shouldn't!! I really hate using the regular razor and am always afraid I'll cut him (actually I have!) so I bought a good electric and I use that most of the time. I go back to the regular one once in a while or if we're going somewhere because it really does give the closest shave.

I hate this almost as much as I having to cut his toenails and fingernails...or is it that I hate the fact that he doesn't know he has to do these things and doesn't see that it looks bad if he doesn't.

Will he let you "touch it up" after he shaves?

I also shave my husband for some time now. i didnt trust him with the razor anymore:) the triple bladed ones are good and do the job quickly. i have two electrics and they just pull and dont do a good job but i still use sometimes just to groom. i do it in the shower when hes sitting on the shower chair, and use lots of shaving creme. i have become quite proficient if i say so::)) ha. if you use a new blade every few times it helps alot to ease the job and he doesnt complain at all. keeping him from moving his head is the issue but we are getting it done fairly well at this point. i had never shaved a man in my life before but you get better at it with a few times. be sure to splash lotion w/alcohol on later to 'seal; it keeps the red bumps away. good luck! divvi

I have been shaving my husband for 2 years now. I bought a small electric razor called the Wahl Peanut. I am not a big fan of the electric razor either because it doesn't shave close. Divvi. Thanks for the shaving tips. I will try using a regular razor. When I let it go for too long, I have his hairdresser do the shaving. I still don't have the confidence to trim a beard or cut hair. I take him to his hairdresser every 2 weeks.

I had never shaved anyone in my life either, until this disease. I guess we are experienced in everything aren't we?

I use the Electric Shaver, to get the long and tough part now some so that it will not pull as much. Then I lather him and do the Gillett Power 3 blade shaver, it seems to be quicker that way because I am not dealing with the first part of the longer growth. My husband has a tough mean beard.

I have been cutting my DH's hair for years - but it is more like mowing, since he has it short. Now, more and more, he forgets to shave his neck. My first try was a couple of days ago. We had one of those four blade razors that is supposed to be such an improvement, but I felt as if I was scraping away! Still, it worked, and I was just glad there wasn't much fuss from my 'patient'. I fanticize about getting him to go to a barber for a shave - it might not feel like a luxury to him, but I think it would to me!
