For anyone comtemplating placing a LO here,my wife was there six days, when she entered I was required to pay $5,288 dollars, the first three days there she eloped twice an they called 911 twice, she was taken to a local ER on the first of June an was sent to a Hospital because they (Clare Bridge ) couldn't handle her, from the hospital she was sent to another AL place, since that time BSL has continued to bill me with the latest coming yesterday telling me I owe over $6000 dollars, this after many calls to their office, once I was told they would refund $2,144,now I get another bill,if they care for patients like they do their bookeeping, refusing to allow her to go back to Clare Bridge was a blessing
ol don---if you haven't maybe yoiu should enlist the help of a lawyer. These are significant dollar amounts and there's no excuse for continued illing, especially considering deficiencies of service.
They were first contacted by my attorney on June 17th an givn seven days to respond at which time they again billed me for month of June, then July an now August,a complaint has been filed with the Michigan Dept of Human Services but apparently that fell on deaf ears also, they also charged another fellow $250.00 late fee because he had mispelled something on his monthly check
Don, just to add to your experience, we're going through the same thing here . The co-committe who is husband's chartered accountant is just sitting on it, and he doesn't seem worried about it. Here's how my mind is working: Since I have ample documentation and photos over a long period of time showing the unsafe nursing care at the first facility, and since the transfer of my husband to the other facility was necessitated because of the danger to him at C., is it worth it to C. to take us to court to collect $6000.00 ? Think of the bad publicity for them. Anyway, I've taken the stance that the co-committee and the lawyer representing us can make the decision to pay for the one month notice fee or not, and I will go along with whatever they decide. At least I've made a statement to C.
75 we should write a book,oh thats right you have written a book,I think Stunt Girl had the right idea to write abook about all the trials an tribulations of care givers an their spouse's an donate eveything to this site
I am having the same problem with Clare Bridge as Don. I moved my hb out of their miserable facility on July 6 (after I had paid the monthly fee) and on July 15 they said they would send me a refund check for the unused portion of the July charges. Today I got a statement from them telling me I had a credit with them! I'll just have to put on my nasty hat and call them Monday morning.
Well yesterday 8-21-10 I received a check in the mail for the grandiose amount of $1,822.44 after the "Director" of this @#$%^& business called last week an told me they would be sending refund of $2,144 dollars,so now they are getting $577.66 per day for the six days my wife was there, anyone comtemplating using this facility should think twice, they also would not give me any of the papers I signed, what I think of Clare Bridge couldn't be posted here
"Sheriff, what a great name to solve our problem! When I sent a letter of complaint about the care at Clare Bridge I was told to send it to North Carolina and I have never heard a word from them. I will try the "Sheriff" and see if I get any better results. Maybe I can get my money also.
He's about to get a scathing letter from me with all the copies of billing, police reports ect and I'm going to send it certified so I know he gets it.Send me an email an I'll keep ya posted
Don, thought you might like to know that I received a letter from the facility asking if there is some reason we aren't paying, and asking us to contact them to "make mutually acceptable arrangements for repayment of the balance owing." The accountant is still sitting on the fence about it, a characteristic I've found frustrating in the past but now quite relish. I see that the sky didn't fall down on you when you named the facility and its owner, so now I'll name this one, as they do have several facilities in the States: Crofton Manor here in Vancouver, B.C., owned by Revera. That may be Revera Inc. Could even be Rivera.
ah 75,if your not the lead dog the scene never changes does it,I sent letter today certified to the sheriff,we'll see what he has to say about the day to day operation of one of his establishments
