Hey, something occured to me the other day while talking to my daughter. It was about something, a habit, her father had developed over several years. Whenever he would talk to ANYone in the room, his eyes were always fixed on ME. It used to bug the hell out of her. She would insist, "HEY, Dad, look at ME when youre talking!" It was sure strange enough. Wondered if anyone else notices (noticed) this habit. Also, constant rubbing his hand on his leg. Distracting.

My DH does similar things. His eyes don't seem to focus on anyone when he talks or is being spoken to. He seems to look past anyone. If I say "Can you look at me?", he answers "I am". NOT! He also talks with his eyes closed. He rubs his legs and claps his hands loudly. If he is asked why he is clapping, he just says because he wants to. I think he wants something, just can't verbalize it. That clapping is worse than distracting, downright irritating.

Wow, my DH does the looking off in space thing, or has his eyes closed. Has been for a long time.

My husband looks "through" people or keeps his eyes closed too. He rubs one leg constantly. He doesn't clap his hands but there was a time that he would pound on any solid surface that he could reach(especially the dash of the car when I was driving). I think that when he did that, he wanted something, I just was never to figure out what.

ol don, you just might have hit the nail on the head with that remark. When he could talk he always did say I drove too fast.

DH hardly talks but when he wants me to slow down (often) he finds the words.
