I read an article today on the CNN web page about a program in Atlanta, GA, where AD patients go once a week to an art class. There is an accompanying video. I wish we had something like this around here, since DW has done lots of paintings over the years. We even showed some of her paintings here at our retirement home. My SIL goes to Easter Seals in Manchester, NH. She is always painting. She has paintings in oil and water color that she has done. The oil is very good - the water colors look like a child did them.
Charlotte, I always found water colours harder to do because you have to work fast to get the changes in shadow etc. blended. I haven't done any painting for ages. Maybe I can get back to it AFTER!
MARSH you could always get adventurous and buy your own paints and let her rip in the kitchen or patio! supervised of course. put a paper bib on you both and newspaper on the floor!i think painting is such a release and great quiet time. divvi
