Lois, I hope Bev continues to improve knowing that her family and those she cares about are all around her. It is so special that everyone is there for her.
Bev is still stable. Her son was here this afternoon and talked to her. She cannot talk but she can nod her head and squeeze your hand. Other company here today and Adrienne and I are back at the hotel resting until later. Rick is coming back to the hotel at 6 - Adrienne is goin g to do night shift again tonight. Still hoping they can do the close the stomach incision tomorrow and do the pelvic surgery on Friday. Thank you for your comments and prayers.
Be prepared Lois. When they pull the vent tube out of her throat, she'll have the worst sore throat she has ever had in her life. We gave Krissy those thin sliced ice chips/that were about the size of a thick piece of paper. cold chips and later popcicles helped more than anything.
Lois, I've been absent from the site for a couple days and have just read this. I'm so glad that Bev's condition is stable and it sounds like she has the very best of care and -- so important -- loved ones for support. My thoughts are with you. Keep us posted.
Surgery this morning went well and her emergency surgery wound is now closed. They are weaning her from the vent. and hope to have it off completely in the morning. At one time she had 14 drips. That is now down to the glucose. Plans still in place for the pelvic surgery on Friday. I really appreciate all your support. Love you all.
Surgery rescheduled for Monday due to her Orthapedic Surgeon having emergencies last night and he doesn't feel refreshed enough because damage is severe. Long surgery. He is the best pelvic surgeon here so we will wait for him. They are presently removing the vent and stomach tubes and going to give her breathing therapy. Thank you Jen. You take care of yourself.
Dear Lois, I can only imagine how hard this has been on all the family...Will pray that all goes well on Monday...sounds like you have the best Doctor to do this opeation...Hugs to you and Bev..
Sending you and Bev and your entire family my prayers.....I've been keeping up with your posts on facebook, so the prayers have actually been coming your way since day one. Keep the faith, and the prayers are coming your way! Take care of yourself, Lois!
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. She is doing better this morning - was hallucinating prolly because of meds and they are now giving her a anti-phy. I am sitting with her this morning and feeding her ice chips. Starting arm and feet exercises today and starting to wean her off oxygen mask. Surgery still on for Tues. as far as we know.
Bev is recovering from her final successful surgery. She will be in bed and wheelchair for 12 weeks to let her pelvic bones heal. Thank you so much for all your words of comfort and support.
