We understand that Lois' daughter and son in law were in an accident and are being taken by Life Flight Helicopter to a hospital in Charleston WV. Let's start a prayer circle for her and for her children. I'm Nancy, and I'm holding out my hand....
have you had Zibby. Lord be with those injured, the doctors, nurses, emergency personnel showing them exactly what to do. give peace and comfort to the family.
I'm offering my hand and my heart, with prayers for all. More of Lois' family was injured in a second accident too! We're waiting to hear how everyone is doing.
Update: (bits and pieces of information is coming in ..till she gets her computer) Eldest daughter has broken pelvis and abdominal bleeding. Her grandson was in a separate accident today as well..., riding on a 4 wheeler and hit a tree, . He is currently being examined by neurologists in another hospital.
CORRECTIONS: I talked to Lois a few minutes ago. Her daughter, Bev, was riding on a four wheeler with her husband, and they were going much too fast, missed a turn and hit a tree. She had surgery overnight to stop the internal bleeding, and is waiting now to go into another surgery to repair her (quote) severely damaged pelvis bones. Her grandson was riding on a motorcycle .unaware of Bev's accident, and wiped out. He suffered head injuries and was also transferred to the larger hospital where Bev was life-flighted earlier. It was determined he had not suffered severe brain injury...and was released later to some family members and he is resting in their home in Charleston. Lois' son in law, who was driving the 4-wheeler, did not suffer serious injuries. Lois's cell phone is dead, and she is waiting for her charger and laptop to be brought to her later today. She is a woman of faith, and she is so grateful for your prayers and thoughts during this time.
Thanks, Nancy, for the updates.....I am glad that her grandson and son in law seem to be in better shape. Will continue with prayers for her daughter and the family.....
Thank you all so much for your support. You will never know how much I appreciate it. We are still waiting for the Orthapedic Surgeon. All family are here and her eldest daughter and my son Greg are with her now. Her ex has been on the scene - actually he was the first one on the accident scene. He is also here with us. He just went in a few minutes ago. She knows us all as she frequently wakes and can nod her head but is on a venalater and all the massive tube systems covering everything below her eyes. I will update later today.
Please keep us posted on everyone as we continue to send our prayers for the safe recovery of all the injured and those supporting can caring for them. Blessings.
Surgery is tentavily scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning. She has 6 pelvic fractures but we have a good feeling about things now. The Doctor doesn't think it is a critical situation. Everything is still the same and she is on the ventilater. We have a strong faith on God and are putting everything into his hands. Rick got her about noon, but I am also worried about him. He just had a violent shaking spell. My cousin is here and her sil is a MD. He is in Church now but she will talk to him later and see what we sould do. Marsh any imput?
Lois, sounds like all the right things are being done - proper medical care + prayer. Having an MD in the family is a help in understanding what is going on. Keep us posted. Prayers are with you.
Both of my adult sons own all terrain vehicles (4 wheelers) .. and they know I absolutely HATE them. I've heard too many stories about how dangerous they are if they turn over which they often do... Does it surprise anyone that they just look at me and laugh...saying , "Awwwww Mom...don't worrreeeee!". ....As we have all said, "life changes in the blink of an eye!"
Lois hope you can get sleep tonight. I'm sure Rick is in a state of shock..and needs to be watched over by his children who are there.
I am sitting in ICC with Bev. One granddaughter and BF in waiting room. Rest went to Hotel to sleep or home to return later. She had the surgery this morning but were unable to close the incision due to swelling. However, she loooks much better, and the Doctor says she is doing well. Tenatively he plans to try again on Wed. and they still plan the pelvic repairs on Friday. We finally convinced Rick to go to hotel for a shower and to rest a while. He is doing better now. We have been worried about him. We have to have a man with him so the guys are of course stepping forward to do what has to be done. Thank you so much for your prayers and comments both here and on facebook. We will show her all of them when she is able to look at them. This is going to be a long-haul....
Imohr*....she is so lucky to have you and the family around. Don't know what I would have done if left all alone when I got (and still GET) injured....you all and my family (and GOD) kept me going and in repair. NancyB*.....I own the ULTIMATE 4-wheelers (horses) and so, I understand what your sons are saying about you not worrying. Adrenaline junkies (like your sons and me) don't EVER think of "what IF"...and the after effects on those that love them.
