Name: ……………………......... User-name: …………………….. Password: ……………………... Date of Birth
I get stuff like that all the time, even from my e-mail server!!!! (at least that's what they SAY) Never, ever reply to them!!! No one legit would ever ask you for your password, etc.
My husband nearly got taken in by a scam--the email seemed to come from an aunt and said she was stranded in England and needed someone to send her money. She does go to England regularly. Luckily he asked me before doing anything. I would like to point out to him that this is evidence that he needs to let go of more financial matters, but I'm afraid if I make a fuss about it the next time he just won't tell me. I do handle all the bills, and the credit card he mostly uses has a low limit, but he doesn't want to let go of that.
We get this type of letter - even on our Macs. My husband did reply to one of them and had his computer messed up for quite some time. He just kept saying "but it looked so official."
I am very pleased with the way microsoft responded and continued to update me. Funny thing is that it wouldn't accept my windows live address and had to use my gmail. Another reason to have back up e mail.
