My daughter has been a tremendous help to me through these last few years. When her mom's condition worsened she moved home and continued college locally while helping me care for her mom, my wife. Kathleen graduated today from Dominican College in Orangeburg, NY. She did everything possible to take care of her mom and has become very active in the Hudson Valley chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. With all of the outside pressures and the incredible burden of watching her mom decline she turned in eight straight semesters on the Dean's List and graduated with Honors. I am so Proud. I wish I could post pictures here.

Congratulations Thunder. She deserves a night out with dad. You can join Facebook and join our Alzheimer spouses group. Then post pictures. If you can't figure it out I am sure your daughter can show you how to set it so only your friends can view them (us, family, etc - only those you say can)>

Thunder---Wht an accomplishment on her part and yours. It takes special parents to raise their children to be such go-getters and so compassionate at the same time. And it takes special children to do the work, make the commitments of time and love. Congratulations to you both.

Charlotte..... think thee that I am an old fuddy duddy??? I have had a FB page for years. I help my daughter with computer problems. I will indeed seek out Alz Spouse on FB and join.

Thank you, Charlotte, and everyone for all of the wonderful comments and compliments. I am very proud of my daughter and I know that her mom would be too. The only sad part to that whole day was not being able to share it with my wife or for my wife to be able to watch her only child walk across that stage and graduate with honors. My wife has two Masters degrees and graduated with honors herself so many years ago. I miss her so much. So does Kathleen.

The facebook group is "azspouse" - I think it is private so after you search for it, you have to request to join and someone will accept the request.

Mark, my understanding is if you post on the azspouse site it will show up on members walls but only members of azspouse will see it - none of our other friends.
