Do any of you have a LO who has become a magician. MyAH has become a master at making things disappear.Within seconds things are gone, seemingly forever. This month 3 scrub pails have gone, his partial plate, the dog dish and numerous other things. I am going crazy trying to find stuff. It seems to be getting worse or I am losing patience more. WE live in a mobile home,so you would things would be easy to find. But we also have 2 large barns and I think that there are probably hordes of stuff in them. Are any of you going thru this with your spouses?
Fortunately, my husband is past this stage but he was very good at putting things in "safe" places. Of course, it would always be my fault that they were wherever. I learned to be quite a good dectective and find most things. However there were those that I never did find or found a couple of months later. It is part of the disease, they don't remember it. If it is something you need to hang onto either get copies made or lock them up so the important things don't disappear.
Diane and I played "hide and seek" every day when we got home from work for over six months! The tea pitcher on the bathroom counter, the wastebasket (for the bathroom) in the corner of the living room, the cell phone in the trash can (still worked and wasn't dirty!) - it is even rougher on some men - the women hide their jewelry and accuse their husbands of stealing it!! It might show up in an old purse, in a sock, etc.
Putting things back where they belong is okay unless it is valuable. In that case, remove it from the house until this stage has passed. Good luck! <grin>
I am missing a serving spoon, two unopened packets of candle bulbs and I know there are a couple of other things that I can't think of right now. This morning DH couldn't find the P.J's he had used one night...they were in the laundry hamper. A while back he had "lost" his money in his bedroom which took about a week to find.
Yup, things are "lost" and it's ALWAYS someone else who's put stuff away or stolen it. This evening I found a plastic baggie, sandwich size, in a kitchen drawer w/pieces of cooked chicken in it. 5 days ago we had fried chicken, and hb said he wasn't going to eat supper; so I left his plate at the table. Think he ate some later, tossed some, and put some in drawer for later:) Last week we bought, among other things, a mat to put by the front door. I still haven't found it, and it wasn't a small bag. He had a plastic money keeper w/rows for pennies, nickels, etc. Got so he couldn't count it, but I would; then we'd (I'd) roll them. $ keeper has disappeared, and I don't know where it is; probably turn up sometime. After reading *s stories and others farther down the road than me, I'm not whining or venting; I'm just stating the facts, ma'm just th facts. lol
Lately it's been my jewelry, grandaughter's baby spoons, photos taken out of frames. They usually end up in his pockets. I've also been hunting all week for the library's DVD. I set on a table for only a couple of minutes and it was gone too. Back to playing detective as well...
my LO hides her purse so that all the people in the house won't steal her money,I got tired of looking for it 4-5 times a day so I bought a luggage finder from Pennys, its a little gizmo that will beep when you push button on transmitter, this helped a lot til one day she took the reciever out of her purse an hid it in the grill outside, now its locked to her purse with a very small padlock, but she still accuse's me an everyone else in the house of stealing her money, the dog an I are the only one here besides her
When my husband's problems first became apparent to me was when he lost his credit card, several times. He also lost his raincoat, later found at church. several windbreakers, never found. At home things disappeared regularly. He is not losing things as much now. Maybe, I watch him more closely because I am always, always with him. He no longer pays for any thing,so that solves the credit card problem and we don't go out as much anyway.
We've had several cases of the missing eyeglasses lately. Usually happens on a very busy day and I hate having to spend a whole morning dealing with the problem.
ol don, at least she doesn't do what my DH used to do. He always thought "kids" were going to come in the house and steal his money so when he went to bed, he put his wallet down in his briefs that he slept in.
LOL well I've never checked inside her underpants but I'm sure with all the "stuff" missing around here she wouldn't be able to walk if thats where she's stashing it
