On Sunday we were sitting on the porch enjoying the nice weather. Out of the blue DH said he doesn't think he should drive again. He hasn't driven for about a year but he would insist that he could still drive.
This morning I got up at 6.00...DH was in his bathroom with pants and T-shirt on. He said he had wet the bed!!!!! Fortunately it hadn't gone through to the mattress pad and mattress. Soooooo I am now washing sheets, blanket and P.J's. I surprised myself and stayed calm. LOL. Maybe I am learning from this site. Thanks Joan. I told DH that we could get Depends or whatever if we have to. Of course he didn't know that there were such things but didn't refuse to use them.
Jean well if the calling card named incontinence shows up you will do just fine. many of us have fears of dealing with this particular issue but you did and will do just fine. lets hope its temporary! divvi
Keep some in the house, anyway, Jean. I think for a lot of them trying to remember to pee in time is frustrating and intimidating. Wearing the Depends (we call them whities, as in the nickname for Jockey shorts, whitie-tighties) relieves their worry - they can still go to the toilet but if they don't make it, it is no big deal.
So far today has not gone well. I did get everything washed and dried but now the ice maker has decided to take a vacation. I am getting a new fridge and micro wave delivered on Thursday so we will probably have to go and get some bags of ice tomorrow to try and save what little I still have in the freezer. They are supposed to call tomorrow and give me a 4 hour window of when they will deliver and then call Thursday about an hour before.
I am also getting a call tomorrow if my new eyeglasses will be in. My glasses broke last Thursday and I couldn't see anyone until Monday because they were all at the other office. The young woman tried to fix my glasses but they broke again so I ended up having to get new ones. If anything else goes wrong I just might leave town. VBG.
Nothing Jeanette! Even if I did leave town there wouldn't be anyone to take care of things and there is no way DH could handle anything so I guess I am here for the duration!!!!! Just hope I can stay cool, calm and collected.
when we can't leave but we have to get away, we need a Huge supply of Calgon......... At least we may be able to escape for a few well deserved minutes. Hope you can get a few Jean21
I often think being a wine drinker would be a nice way to relax but I have no idea where to start. Last time I drank wine was in high school and it was Boones Farm wine.
Charlotte, it is absolutely the best relaxer for me. You may have to acquire a taste for it, however. Red, white, sweet, tart???? I love my Merlot every afternoon and DH has a glass of Cream Sherry.
Charlotte, if you are a 'beginner' in the wine market.., try a nice white German wine..they are usually sweeter and everyone enjoys them. I'm a Chardonnay lady, but I began with German wines.. I am definitely NOT a wine person in that I have a very unsophisticated taste...and I have to avoid all red wines because the tannins in red wine triggers horrible headaches in me. Happy day! The white wines are extremely agreeable... Cheers!
White Zin is a good white wine to start with. It's technically a blush, but I think of it as a white wine. I'm with Nancy - the German white wines are what I started with. Now I prefer the reds though.. Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Shiraz....I like a glass of wine after I get home from work each day.
Charlotte, I too, am not a wine drinker, but several here have given me good advice like above. I still haven't acquired "a taste for it". But, I enjoy the "sparkling cider, white grape, red grape" I buy at grocery stores and just about every place. They are non-alcholic. My daughter recently introduced me to B & J Wine Coolers in different flavors. They are small individual bottles bought in the refrigeration section near the other wines. I am now enjoying those. These are all "sparkling beverages" and may be a good place to start. I still have not "given up on the wines" however. (grin)
