I noticed in one of the threads sometime ago that someone had cards printed explaining that their spouse had Alzheimers,I was wondering how they were worded,I think the time has come for me to be handing these out from time to time
My dear husband has Memory and communication Problems, Please be patient.
This is the way I worded mine. I hand them to any new Doctor we go to and make sure the receptionist puts them in front of the chart so that everyone can see it. I use it anytime I feel the need. I thought it sounded better and more personal than the one the Alzheimer safe return cards did.
I used the same on bluedaze has. About the only time I really used them was when we went out to eat and I would show it to the waitress. I didn't give it to her, only showed it to her.
I did mine on my computer using business card format and have a top border with blue script letters: Thank you
Then a couple lines down: My husband has vascular dementia. Thank you for being patient with us.
Next printing, I think I'll use Jane's wording. "Vascular dementia" is meaningless to many people. Like Joyce43, the time I use them most is in restaurants, and slip it to host/ess or waiter discreetly.
