Well, the VA finally approved DH's daycare. The facility that I chose has been fantastic, they really did all the work. They approved 5 days a week, but I think I'll ease him into it. He's a bit reluctant (he's in that petulant 4 year old phase), but has agreed to try it. We're meeting with the Social Worker at the facility on Monday, and will set up his treatment plan. I can't believe that we've come to this point, but realistically, I have no choice. His safety and welfare have to by my number one priority. Thanks for listening.
I'm glad the VA approved your husband for daycare. I hope your husband settles in to going to daycare. I've been lucky that my husband goes willingly for me two days a week. I hope to have him go 3 days a week by the fall. Good luck to you.
A suggestion, Diane, i found that many of the people at my husband day care are "volunteering" their time, to help others. In addition, there are several who think they are being paid. One whose husband hands her an envelope with 3 twenties in it at the end of each week, (funny, she commented that it must be off the books, since she's paid in cash), another who gets paid direct deposit. My DH thinks he's volunteering, but he's commented that he thinks he should be paid. Might help.
Diane, congratulations!!! Another hurdle conquered. I hope he settles in quickly so that you have less stress getting him there. Please keep us posted!
