Since Saturday, my DH, once again doesn't know from minute to minute who I am, am I his wife or his mother? I wouldn't mind except that he gets very upset, not knowing where his wife, chris is. and he yells at me for lying to him, etc. He has also been sleeping almost constantly so Monday, i could not get him up for Day care. i called and told the director my tale of woe, and she suggested that he might have a UTI. Well, I told her he had just gotte over one (I thought) in fact, we had gone down to give another urine sample the week before, and NOONE HAD CALLED TO TELL US THE RESULT so naturally I assumed it was negative. DUH, when i called the nurse looked it up and said.... yes your right folks, he still has a UTI. I had all I could do not to take her head off, but there's really no point, so I got his new antibiotics, and he's been taking them since yesterday. suddenly, this afternoon, he recognized me. Please be aware, if there is a sudden change.... it could be an infection. The director also mentioned the possibility of dehydration, which I'm sure he is, because he doesn't drink enough. Just be aware.

Chris, Be careful if the antibiotic is Cipro. Too much of Cipro for the UTI my husband had in early February is what put him back into the hospital with C Diff. It's been almost 2 weeks & he still has C Diff....another round of Flagyl for him for a couple more weeks.

Chris make sure they cultured his bacteria from the urine sample. if they dont give him the RIGHT antibiotic for the growth of bacteria it WILL come back. without the right drugs the bacteria stay resistant. ask to know if there was a culture and WHAT kind of bacteria!
