Just a little humor regarding the "full moon". Many moons ago when I was in high school when it was full moon time in the fall there would be maybe 4 to 6 different hayrides into the country side and then they would all get together at this one person's farm house for a big fire and food. However, several of the wagons would all go across this huge field at the same time. Of course, there was always one guy who would wait for a clearing in the field from the trees so he would be totally exposed and would moon the other wagaon. Naturally, that was the cue for the next wagon to "moon" the wagon next to them.....As they say, the moon has many meanings to many different people. Thanks for this post and bringing back memories of fun times...loved those hayrides.
Hope the evening goes well for you. Tired is something that is part of every day when you are doing the full time caregiving. I told my daughter this week, as difficult as it was losing Jim, I am not near as tired this year as I was a year ago when I had the full time caregiver position. I'm kind of down tonight...3 months ago on the 28th of August was when I lost him forever.
Oh Lord, I remember the times his stupid family would ask "Is he getting better?". I told them over and over and over that he was not going to get better and would eventually succumb to it and until then, he would have good days and bad days. When it comes to Alzheimer's, there are truly some dumb shits out there!
Yes, there are Linda Mc. The good thing is that eventually they will go away. Just be grateful now, if they stick with their ostrich comments. Picture them that way, and roll it off. Be polite, but don't waste your energy trying to change them. In the grand scheme ofyour life, they have no serious sigfnificance. Don't give them any.
Well said, Carosi2!!! The mental picture of them with their heads buried in the sand and their bums in the air is really quite hilarious! I'm going to mentally kick them all now! Hahahahaha!
A full moon = much more light. Last night’s was so big and bright – it was nearly hypnotizing!
Light is the main cue that affects our circadian rhythms; our circadian rhythms influence many factors of physical, mental, and behavioral health. So, it makes sense that the full moon would affect us.
For a full discussion of circadian rhythms see here: http://www.nigms.nih.gov/Education/Factsheet_CircadianRhythms.htm
Also discussed in that factsheet is our “master clock” which controls circadian rhythms and is located in the hypothalamus – the very spot in the brain where Alzheimer’s begins...
