I am sorry to have to tell you that Dave Howe, husband of our member Betsy Howe, died this morning. It was a complete shock to me- Betsy had written that he was declining quickly, but I never expected this so soon.

I had the privilege of meeting Dave and Betsy just last year at the DC Forum. Betsy writes Alzheimer's articles, has written a guest blog for me, and Dave wrote the essay, The Evil Fog (featured in one of my blogs), which described his descent into AD. Their love story is also in the "Love Story" section on the left side of my home page. The links to these are below, for those of you who have not seen them.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Betsy. May God grant you the strength and comfort to carry on. It's a tough road.

With Betsy's approval, I also used 'Living in an Evil Fog' last year in one of my AD columns for Today's Senior magazine. Dave had to have been someone very special to be able to paint such a portrait for all of us to better understand what our LO's endure.
