I copied and pasted HLK's comment from another thread (Falling/Our Biggest Nightmare) because it seems to have gotten lost. I thought everyone would be interested.

Thank you for your kind words...this has been a sad day for me, I got a call from my dear friend Rosalie this morning, that her beloved husband, Dario, passed away peacefully last night. In some ways, it is a blessing, but in others a heartache and leaves a huge void in her life. My regret is that I never got to meet Dario, only through his photo and Rosalie. She has a lovely family, and thank God she has them, and by her side. I did not wish to be the bearer of this news to you, but know she is not in touch right now, and I know how much she will welcome your kind words and sympathy.
deb: So sorry you are having to go thru what you are right now. You are traveling the road that the rest of us must travel someday. I don't think that I am very far behind you on that road.
My sincere condolences to your friend in the loss of her husband.
Don't worry, I didn't lose my husband, Rosalie (RB13) did and I just brought up the post that HLK has posted in a different thread.
The other information in the post was about HLK's husband. I removed it so it wouldn't confuse anyone else. Sorry I didn't make that clear in the post.
Rosalie, I am so sorry for the loss of your dear husband. I know well, the pain and loss you are feeling, and pray that you feel the love of God to comfort you and give you strength at this most difficult time. ((((HUGS))))
Dear Rosalie, I am so saddened to hear of the passing of your Dario. You have a wonderful family to lean on both at home and hear. Please keep posting, we care. Arms around, Susan
Thank you Deb, for posting this for me...also thank you to Helen....Thank you all for all your prayers, it is such a comfort.. It was a hard journey for Dario and all of us.. He fell Jan. 7th and broke his Hip..operated on the 9th, and never reallly came out of it...many complications..ended up not being able to swallow, and getting phnemonia, aspirating... he went into a Hospice facillity, when the Dr. said there was nothing they could do for him....that was the 19th, and passed on the 24th..The Hospice Facility, was the best place to be....he got all the the attention he needed to make him comfortable. I was able to sleep in the same room with him, which was comfort to me...I know he is at Peace, his falling was maybe, a Blessing in disguise...God Bless you All..Rosalie
Rosealie I am so sorry for your loss may you find comfort in your family and friends, don`t forget you have alot of cyber family here. I understand where you are at this trying time. God bless. Gail
Rosalie, I posted on a different thread (where Deb originally posted the news) but will repeat here in case you don't see it. I wish you great strength to get through the difficult days to come. Love and peace to you and your dear Dario.
Knowing Dario is safe and well inhis Heavenly Home, may God'sPece enfold you and comfort you as you now must move forward into a new life. So sorry. Carosi
My Dear Friends: I am back home in Jax now...We had a beautiful service for Dario yesterday, Sat...In Clearwater, where we lived for 47 years, before moving to Jacksonvill...I was overwhelmed by the show of love for him, from Friends and extended famaiies....there were over 200 people in church, tributes were made to him, from his oldest friend, who came from New Jersey...a beautiful one from one of our Grand-sons, and a special one from Fr. Finnigan, who has been part of our lives for 35 years..he came in from Sarasota..It helped the pain tosee so much love being shown to him...Thank you all for all your kind words...this is truly a Special Web....God Bless you All.... someone please tell me how to put the star next to my name....???
RB13, I am glad your service went well. The one we had for my DH also went well and the tributes are so heartwarming. To add the star, click on Accounts at the top of this page, click on personal information and add the star at the end of RB13. Good Luck. You will find that now you will have to get your legs under you again because you are going from 24/7 care of someone to 24/7 care of yourself.
Rosalie, just click the blue tab ACCOUNT at the top of this screen. That will open your account. Then click on the menu item PERSONAL INFORMATION on the left. There you can change any of the info, including your name. Just type the STAR in after your name. You've earned it! Loved your account of the beautiful service. Dario was loved indeed.
Rosalie, YES you have earned your star! AND, you have placed a bright and shining star in MY life since our friendship, thanks to this wonderful website. I am forever grateful to you, especially, for reaching out and touching me, and to all of our wonderful "family". Blesssings to all of you!
