I love Dr. Oz. I hope he doesn't say something stupid to change my opinion of him. We shall see. Thanks for your comment, Charlotte - I hadn't heard that.
I hear this over and over..re: diet, weight, blood pressure,..it is a disease it itself if not kept in control.
I AM WHAT I EAT,...and here I sit with a huge glass of water (that's good!) but when I was filling my glass, I grabbed a small Hershey bar to eat. It was THERE....and I swear to you..that candy bar was saying "Naaaannnnceeeeeeeeee".
I'm watching Dr. OZ right now. It just came on in my area.
I took the mental test with the words. I got 6 right and that's not bad for an old lady. LOL.. It would have been nice if he had devoted more time to alzheimers. It is a subject that cannot be covered in 15 minutes. Nancy, I think I will go get a Baby Ruth.
I look at it this way Nancy and Bama: I drink diet pop and water leaving those calories for something I really like. Candy bars, cookies (rarely), and other 'healthy' snacks are what I drink those calorie-less drinks for!
I do like Dr Oz. Was really surprise at the wide range of topics he covers. When it was first announced I wonder how a heart surgeon could fill 45 minutes day after day with interesting info. I also like that he believes there is a place for alternative treatments (including supplements) along side traditional medicine. I also love to watch him try the exercise routines - at times he looks very uncoordinated.
Just watched Dr Oz with hb. It was good as far as he went. The brains were interesting to see. I think my hb found it interesting too and helped him understand a little more of what is happening to him.
Watched Oz. Thought it was good for what it was - he's good at what he does, brings things to the average watcher w/out getting too scientific & technical. Dr. Small was good, too. I keep telling people that forgetting why you go into a room is not a sign of AD--he verified that. Wish AD was not called a disease of forgetting because people panic when they normally forget. As for the words--I fall into the category of need to be concerned. Great. However, I've always had a poor memory--worst one in the family--especially short-term, was always that way, so I'll put that on my list of things to worry about--if I don't forget.
Bettyhere, finally....someone else with a poor short term memory. I have always had one too. Remember about 20 yrs ago buying a small plaque that said, "it's hard to be nostalgic when you can't remember anything". I've always wondered if it was because I didn't pay enough attention, or because I didn't talk about such and such so much, know what I mean? Heck, I read a book and then can't remember what I read or the author. Maybe I should be tested although I took Dr. Oz's word test and remembered most of them.
My memory is bad as well. I can re-watch a TV show I watched last season (maybe last month) because while I might recognize the characters or even the basic plot, I can never remember how they ended up.
buzzelena, the difference is: you remember you have SEEN the show. I do the same thing. However, DH can watch the same show ten times straight but he doesn't remember that he has ever seen it!
