I had an interesting experience today. Was talking to a gentleman from SS on the phone about my DH SS being switched over to me.
Everything going along well and he asked me the date of our Wedding and I told him May 21, 1955. He said to give him a few minutes to call the office in the other county to verify our marriage date. A few minutes later he called me back (obviously amused at this demented woman) and told me they had the wedding certificate but it was May 20, 1955 - Did I think that would be it? Well, I have
ALWAYS celebrated our anniversary on May 21, but being the "demented woman" I have become, told him I think it must be so. SO, he
OK's the claim and I will have Paul's SS now instead of mine. This evening, my grandson checked on Google somehow and found that May 21, 1955 was a Saturday. WHEW!!!! I have been right all these years. Now, my inclination is to just not argue with anyone about anything and let what will be, will be. I know there are a couple people here who used to work in the SS department. Do I have a problem?

I have never worked in the SS department, but I would say you shouldn't have a problem - obviously, they do!

Lois, No, that would be no problem. You'll be okay even if they are off a day or so. Not to worry about it. Merry Christmas! JoAn

Lois--the point is that you were legally married, and waaaaay beyond10 yrs, which is the minimum. As you said, let it be.
