With the saddest of hearts today I need to let everyone who's been so supportive to me know that I place my husband in hospice today. They were absolutely wonderful. Its been the hardest thing I have ever had to do and I have also told him its ok to go on ahead of me. I will see him again soon. I urge all of you who are afraid of making that decission to know that they are great and compassionate people. He will remain at home until the time nears at which time we will take him to the hospice home. I love you all, this has been a quick journey for us. I will kepp you posted. Hugs Nikki,Devvi, and Lois (you have always been there).

magnoliarose don't be sad. With the help of hospice your dear husband will be kept comfortable and at peace. My hope is that you find the same for yourself.

I told my husband today that when we meet again we will fly through the galaxy hand and hand, and will will touch every star and every planet and dance in the light of the sun. We will walk the beaches hand in hand and no one will even know we are here. We'll have the dance floor to ourselves. And if any Grey's Anatomy fans are here, grab a drink and lets dance. Thank you for your prayers.

The medication adjustment hospice did yesterday had him sleeping like a baby. He fell asleep on the sofa so thats where I let him sleep, curled myself up on the floor next to him. Most peaceful night we've had in a while.

Magnoliarose, I love your description of flying through the galaxy together. I'm a big GA fan also. I wish you peace and comfort in knowing your husband's struggle will soon be over.

folly, we will be busy in our other life, that galaxy is so big. I love GA and love Meredith. I have learned on my own that when life throws us curves, learn to dance,
    especially in the rain.

Thank you all for your prayers.

Magnoliarose, I believe you will fly together when the time is right. Your words were beautiful, and you must be a very old soul to have so much understanding about how the universe works. Hoping for peace for you as you walk the last leg of this journey. Namaste.

Hello dear hearts in this journey with me, I so appreciate the kindness of your thoughts at this time. My days go by so fast and even with help, the fatique is great. I helped keep my great nieces today (4 and 7) and I have to say, that even though I am tired to the bone, its so wonderful to see the life in those precious babes. Their daddy is on his Christmas break from the service and it was so good to see them all today. He will be leaving for Germany soon and then off to Afganastan. It took all we had to keep dh from getting to adgitated but hospice is really encouraging family be around and getting him out on good days. My niece who we hadn't seen in two years didn't recognize him.

Kitty, my old soul is how I have always been described by friends and family. Wisdom beyond my 53 years. DH and I have lead very adventerous lives. I can honestly say there has never been a day I haven't absorbed wisdom and grace from the lives of others. I know that this venture with Ad probably won't be my last one but I pray that I don't ever have to see it happen to anyone again. Peace be with you all!

Just wanted to update you on our time with hospice. It has been the best thing I have ever done for the both of us. They have touched my life in ways I never could have dreamed possible. My fears of letting others help him have been proven wrong. They have taken such good care of him. He has two cna's out three times a week (takes two to handle him) to bathe him and we get a weekly visit from his nurse. They are putting him on oxygen because his o2 levels have dropped to 84 two weeks in a row. We will be getting a hospital bed shortly as he is walking less and less and this will allow me to get him to bed easier. He is almost what they deem bedbound. His medications are delivered to our door so I no longer have to worry how I am going to get them. The chaplin has come out and they are arranging in home grief counciling for me. I had heard such wonderful things about hospice and they are allowing me to fulfill my wishes for him, to be in his home and well taken care of during the last stage. I am so at peace with this. They are taking good care of both of us. I know I did the best I could by myself, but I had met my limit. Its allowed me to be his wife again to some extent and not his soul caregiver. I just wish I hadn't been so afraid to call sooner. Blessings to you all.
