DH is 67. Dxd in 2006. Since has had multiple learning disabilities all his life and Mental Illness Dxd in 1988, no clue when symptoms of VaD started manifesting.
DH is 62, dx 2008 EOAD but showing symptoms at least 3 years ago, behavior out of norm 2003. His younger sister was dx 2005 EOAD at age 55. We blamed her behavior on being a 'ditsy blond' all her life.
Spouse is 74, diagnosed with Dementia of the Alzheimers type 4 years ago. I'm 53 and we have been married just 5 years so I personally haven't seen the symptoms from before that but have been told since that he was exhibiting symptoms since 1999 when he had a terrible motorcycle accident suffering a severe concussion.
Mine was 72 at the end of our journey. He was formally diagnosed at 68, but we know he was declining at the age of 59-60. Took so long to get diagnosis due to his absolute denials, arguments, and me not wanting to rock the boat.
My husband will be 90 in 3 weeks. Looking back, I'd say he's had Alzheimer's for about 6 years. In Feb., I'll be 80, and, God willing, we will be celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary earlier in the same month.
I am totally amazed at the number of early onset of those posting here. My heart breaks for all of you who are so young and have to travel this terrible journey. Just know the "older" ones are here for you.
We have both just turned 58 Kathryn in October and me in Novenber. Kathryn was 56 when Diagnosed and was forced to resign 2 ½ years before that. After a battery of test and a MRI the doctors said she was fully in stage 5. We have married for 9 years now.
