I've always been amused at everyone's tales of their spouses finding strangers looking back at them from the mirrors. Not mine. But last night, we went into the bathroom for the usual undressing/toileting routine. He has a cold, and his voice has become extremely deep, growly. He LIKES it! He discovered that in the tiled bathroom he could make even MORE noise growling in there. So he did. Then he saw himself in the mirror. Great grin. He made faces at himself, growling and roaring! Caught my eye in the mirror and laughed out loud. I had to, as well. He was so funny, and so proud of himself!!

Funny. I mean, I guess you have to look at it that way. They get so much like little kids.

My husband has just started commenting about the man in the mirror. So far I've been in the mirror too, and he knows it is me in the mirror and at least some of the time he knows it is him as well. But I don't know how much longer that will be going on.

Those men have caused so much stress for him and for me. He is really mad because they have the same shirt on as he has. He walks the floor trying to find them. If it did not trouble him so much maybe I could see some humor in the situation. When I tried covering up the mirrors he just uncovered them and continued giving them h-ll. He even talks to magazine covers and photos.

My dh still talks to the man in the mirror and will even go into the room behind the mirror to try to find him. So far he does pretty with "him" most of the time. He will joke and laugh and flex his muscles, but once in a while will challenge "his" right to be here. I have discovered something else, though. Even though he does well with the man in the mirror, he does NOT do well when he sees his reflection through a window at night. That gets him quite upset. I don't know if it's the fact that it is so dark in the background, or if he thinks "he" is outside peeking into the house at night. At any rate I have to get the blinds closed before it gets very dark in the evening.
Funny.....it used to be him that insisted the blinds be closed just as soon as the sun was almost down....now it is me. Oh, how things change....and still stay the same!
