    Kadee,

I so sympathize with you. This is supposed to be a place where we can vent, isn't it? Isn't it better to vent here and get it out of our system than to do something horrible to someone we love? Everyone who is going through this is doing the best they can. Occasionally we crack. We're not people who can go home at the end of a long day. We have to stay here in the place we worked in all day, and sometimes half the night or more. There is no respite, unless there is someone to give it to us. Some of us have it, some of us don't, but we still try. Let's not vilify someone who is doing the best they can in a very difficult situation. And, come on, don't we all occasionally scream? And doesn't that screaming get the rage out of us so we don't really blow and do something really awful? I'm with Kadee....

Absolutely, babozek! This is not easy, and I suspect we all scream from time to time. We may all wish we didn't, but I think most of us probably do.

Kadee, You have my sympathy and support. After 2 years of no outside help whatsoever, I put DH in daycare and now have part time in-home help as well. Even so, after 5 years caregiving, it is still a huge struggle at times. We are only human and I believe that the demands of dementia caregiving are inhumane...once you work out some respite care, I'm sure your stress level with be reduced.
