Like so many others' LOs, my DH sleeps a ton during the day. He has severe central sleep apnea and REM sleep disorder (Lewy Body Dementia). The doctor is now trying him on Nuvigil, which is a new version of Provigil. It is supposed to help him stay awake during the day and sleep better at night. The first time we tried it, he was better for a couple days (slightly higher BP and pulse, but not bad) and then he seemed to get worse. I am trying it again. The first day he was remarkably clear (more than in months), but then that could have been just a good day. I have heard of giving patients Ritalin to help, but my DH has a movement disorder and the Ritalin is likely to make it worse.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts and experience.
