My husband is crying all the time now. I can't do anything without him taking it the wrong way and breaking down in tears. I've got to call his doctor in the morning. Is anyone else experiencing this? He is stage 6 AD.

Diane T - yes, I can relate. It was hit and miss starting about a year ago but 2 months ago it was every day all day.
I took her to the Doc to ask for some help on Sept 2. He agreed that the ALZ meds were not helping as she had declined so much since the last visit. So, weaned her off of those over 2 weeks. Then got her on a prescrip for Depokate (sp?) 125mx2. Has not helped at all. She gets up in the morning crying and cries non stop except when she is at daycare.
Her functioning level is just terrible. Permanent placement likely not too far off. We have a follow up visit with Doc
Oct 28 to see how the meds are working. This is such a miserable experience. Thenneck

Diane and thenneck, we too had a crying spell time and medication was what got him back to a stable self...Anti-anxiety drug: Lorazepam. He was on it from October '08 til May '09 and the dr. decided to take him off as he had leveled out...never any more issues of crying since. Perhaps this might be something to try.

It never ceases to amaze me how you people bring up a problem just when I need to talk to someone about it. My DW started crying, almost uncontrollably, last week. It was so bad that I called the Dr and they told me to give her Lorazepam. I makes her sleep an awfully lot, but, that is better that what we had.

    Thanks for your input.

I'm not dealing with this now, but my husband's doctor has offered anti-anxiety meds for when it does happen. And questions about aggression and depression were on the list when I called for a new caseworker visit yesterday.

Tell your doctor about the crying. It is probably time for medications for it.
