I don't know if we have any Canadians in our group-but tomorrow is Canadian Thanksgiving and I want to wish all a happy and peaceful day.

Me, too. We lived in Toronto for 5 years and always celebrated both Thanksgivings: more turkey and pumpkin pie. I'll pass on the steak and kidney pie.

One of my French g'sons who goes to university in Grenoble is studying abroad this semester in Calgary, Canada. He is having a wonderful time, loves Canada and everything about it. Hope I can get up there to visit him, never been to Calgary. He is going to Montreal for the Christmas holidays. He called yesterday and told me that Monday is Canadian T'sgiving Day, he plans to enjoy. So to all the Canadians on this site, have a happy T'giving Day. Blessings.

Thanks guys, yes I do believe there are a few Canadians here, I among them.
I'm trying hard to come up with things to be thankful for besides our wonderful harvest and the lovely fall colours. We also have a "little Oktoberfest" in our town today if it isn't rained out and that's always a happy occasion. Turkey is not on our menu- there are just the two of us and I have never been a fan of turkey.
Our day will be like any other.

inge, our town was founded by the Germans and we had our Oktoberfest last week. Had to make do with a keg of Root Beer since we live in a dry county ( no alcohol sold here). There always is a lot of good German food to sample.

I had no idea there was still such a thing as a "dry county". We have lots of German oom pah pah music but beer only in the restaurants, not allowed in the streets as it is in Germany.

Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian family! We get to celebrate twice! I loved Oktoberfest in Munchen!!! Half-gallon mugs....loved the mugs, but I'm not a beer drinker! <grin>

So Mary, you would like our "Dry" Oktoberfest. Cullman gets a lot of kidding about that.

I enjoy the oompa stuff and the happy celebration. They always seem to be having a fun time!

By the way, since I was away, I don't know if the Tide won Saturday...we did, surprisingly! More to celebrate!

Yes, we won and are now rated # 2 in the polls. The "Hogs" took care of Auburn and looked good doing it.
